Land & Farming at Nordstu Farm
Nordstu Farm is a working farm where the land and livestock go hand in hand. We manage around 70 hectares of grazing and fodder production, focusing on sustainable practices that preserve the soil and support healthy cattle – ensuring the farm can thrive for generations to come.

The farmland
The farm consists of approximately 70 hectares of agricultural land. Most is dedicated to grazing for our Angus cattle, with the rest used to produce winter fodder. This enables us to run a largely self-sufficient operation, feeding the herd with natural, high-quality forage.

Farming through the seasons
Life on the farm follows the rhythm of the seasons, with different tasks throughout the year:
Spring: Calving, preparing the fields and starting the grazing season.
Summer: Grazing and haymaking for winter fodder. Long days outdoors focusing on the land, animals and maintenance.
Autumn: Harvesting, pasture upkeep and preparing for winter.
Winter: Feeding and caring for the herd in the barn, snow clearing and calmer routines on the farm.

Sustainability and long-term care
We want the land we farm to be as good – or better – for the next generation. That’s why we focus on soil health, crop rotation and gentle land use. While not organically certified, we follow many of the same principles: natural grazing, careful care and minimal environmental impact.

Future and development
Nordstu Farm is constantly evolving. Our philosophy is to combine traditional methods with new solutions that make farming more sustainable and efficient. We see the farm as both a legacy to safeguard and a way to showcase responsible farming in practice.
